Aleena Asek

Aleena was born into the world at a poetic crossroads of time and seasons. Back in her family's homeland of Bangladesh, it was the 30th of Jaistha; a sweltering summer month just one day shy of Asharh, the month that finally brings the comforting, cooling monsoon rains to the dusty plains. Yet, for her parents, the ultimate relief arrived a day early.

She was delivered at the Greifswald Klinikum in the quiet town of Greifswald, Germany. For her mother, Suma, and her father, Asek, the wait of ten long months transformed instantly into the greatest realization of their lives: the profound, unparalleled joy of becoming parents.

The journey to finding the perfect name for her was a collaborative family effort, bridging the distance between Germany and Bangladesh. Early on, her father, Asek, considered the name Soha for his little girl.

To help with the decision, Aleena's grandparents lovingly penned a handwritten list of beautiful, meaningful names. This list included options such as Iqra (Read), Sana (Praise), Zara (Like a flower), Naira (Light), Huran (Woman of Paradise), Ila (Earth), Aliya (High status), Amira (Princess), Ifra (Joy), Sayan (Wise), Asuma (Like Suma), Rida (Satisfaction), Saira (Bright), Saba (Morning breeze), Rahma (Mercy), and Arushini (First light of the sun).

From this heartfelt list, her parents collectively chose the perfect name: Aleena (আলীনা). True to its name, Aleena signifies softness and gentleness; qualities that perfectly reflect the precious new life she brought into her family.

Aleena’s existence is the beautiful result of a journey that started in the southern regions of Bangladesh and traveled across Europe. Abdullah Al Asek was born and raised in the southern coastal city of Cox's Bazar. Driven by education, he moved to Chittagong, the industrial capital of Bangladesh, to study Zoology at the prestigious University of Chittagong. It was within this very department that he crossed paths with Suma Akter, who hails from the nearby city of Cumilla.

Following their studies, Asek dedicated several years to the research sector at the university before setting his sights on higher education in Germany. Suma embarked on her own impressive academic journey across Europe, studying and living in Scotland, Greece, France, and Belgium.

Eventually, their separate European paths converged. They were married back home in Bangladesh on June 3, 2024, and ultimately built their life and started their family together in Germany. Though Aleena took her first breaths in Greifswald, Germany, her identity is deeply rooted in the rich soil of her parents' homeland as a Bangladeshi citizen by birth from a Muslim heritage.

Following her birth, Aleena quickly became the center of attention and love for many well-wishers. To honor her arrival, her family and friends have organized several joyous visits, gatherings, and traditional milestones:

Because Aleena is currently in the active neonatal phase, she possesses a naive adaptive immune system and relies heavily on passive immunities. To prevent opportunistic infections, particularly Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) and Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV-1), the family codified mandatory interaction protocols internally designated as "Project Aleena."^[2]

• Hand Sterilization: All personnel must wash with soap and water for a minimum of 20 seconds prior to proximity.^[3]
• Prohibition of Perioral Contact: Visitors are strictly prohibited from kissing her face, head, or hands.
• Symptomatic Exclusion: Any individual exhibiting active symptoms of illness is medically disqualified from visitation until fully asymptomatic for a minimum of 48 hours.
